Arrowhead Mills Corn Pasta

Summary

Bought this product at WalMart the other day. I wanted to make homemade mac and cheese. It comes in a small box. I would recommend 2 if you are making a reasonable sized mac and cheese. It\'s a dark yellow color which is to be expected for a corn pasta. I found the cheese did not stick to this pasta very well. and there was very little taste to it compared to the others I have tried. It was alright to eat. I tried using it for Pasta salad it went hard and gritty after being in my refrigerator overnight. It was still a decent elbow pasta. It wasn\'t heavy sitting in your stomach and it was nice covered in tomato and meat sauce. I am finding different brands of pasta noodles are better for different types of things. O have only found 1 kind that I have been able to use for everything. This one was not it.

Our Compliments Pasta

Summary

I recently started using the our compliments pasta noodles and so far it has been a hit in my house. These pastas are priced a little lower then some and the first thing I thought was if it is cheaper it is not going to measure up to the others we have tried. This is not the case this time. I actually enjoy these pastas so much it is usually needed with every grocery store visit. There are three different types of pasta noodles that you can get penne, spaghetti and fusilli all of these are brown rice pastas. And I find all of these hearty delicious pastas. When you are making pasta for the family this is a must have. You do get a bit of a rice taste off the pasta however I really enjoy it with everything I have tried to make so far. I normally make pasta salad a lot however after going gluten free I found it hard to find a pasta that did not go hard in the fridge after 1 day. The Our Compliments fusilli is the first pasta that I have used where you can eat it the next day and it is not gone hard or taste weird.

Tinkyada Gluten Free Pasta

Summary

Had this Pasta in a fusilli tonight baked with tomato and meat sauce. The texture of the pasta was a little gooey. It had very little taste to it and even though it was gooey the texture was still a little gritty. This pasta is extremely filling. I would not recommend this product to make pasta salad as once the pasta chills it gets really hard and has an unpleasant texture. I also used the elbow noodles recently in a Homemade Mac and Cheese. I enjoyed this pasta a little more. I did not boil it for the time frame it was suggested so it was a little more el dente which worked out really well with my recipe. This Pasta is a little bit heavier then others that I have tried so it fills you up quickly. You can certainly taste the brown rice off this pasta however I really enjoy the taste of most gluten free pastas.
